The bathroom can be a dirty place. My motto is, “You are only as clean as your bathroom.” Lol! How many of us flush our toilets after we use it? Everyone, right! Well, do you flush with the toilet lid up or down? If you said you flush with the toilet lid up (meaning the toilet is open when you flush), please keep reading.
I know this is a tough topic, but I feel that I must broach the topic with comedy and courage.
Do you leave your toothbrush in a toothbrush holder on your bathroom counter-top to dry after you use it? Do you know someone that does?
Do you know someone whose breath always seems to smell like a bowl of warm chitterlings? If so, maybe you can politely recommend that they read this article.
Leaving your toothbrush exposed on your bathroom counter-top and flushing the toilet with the lid open is a recipe for “germ” or “microbe” disaster. Leaving your toothbrush exposed to all of the germs that the toilet emits after you flush is like relieving your bowels and then using the water from the toilet to brush your teeth before you flush away your waste. I know that this analogy is gross, but we all have to become more responsible for our oral health.
So, the next time you smell bad breath and the person does not have cavities, gum disease, a cold, or a virus, maybe his/her breath is bad because he/she leaves his/her toothbrush exposed to the aerosole germs that are released everytime the toilet flushes. Lol! I know this is funny especially if this issue does not apply to you, but don’t forget to be mindful of your significant others’ habits too, because you could be directly affected by what they do or do not do. Keep it healthy!!
Ok, seriously, if you want to protect your toothbrush you have a few options: 1) ALWAYS FLUSH THE TOILET WITH THE LID DOWN or 2) Buy a toothbrush sanitizer. My personal favorite is option #1, but you can choose the option that is best for you.

It’s funny how I am the friend who other friends usually confide in about issues that they are having in their lives.
The other day a male friend of mine called me very upset. He wanted to vent about an argument that he was having with his girlfriend. I said o.k. let me hear it. He told me about the argument and ended his statement with, “I just don’t understand what women want!” I heard the exasperation and desperation in his voice. I felt that I needed to tell him a hard, yet underrated truth. I said, “I think that may be your problem.” He said, “What do you mean?” I said, “Believe it or not, all women are NOT the same. All women don’t believe the same things, eat the same food, educate at the same places, have all of the same hobbies. Get the point? If women can have so much variety, why are you focusing on what “women” want? If you focus on what women want, you will never learn to please your girlfriend. I laughed, like I usually do and I said, look my friend, stop worrying about what “women” want and start focusing on your girlfriend’s wants and needs. She should be the focus of your education of her and with her. When you learn her habits, care about her feelings, and seek to please her, not only will she be pleased with you, but she will more than likely, extend the same courtesy to you.”
He understood, but found it hard to believe that his relationship issue could be resolved that easily. I told him to try it and let me know if this does not work.

Hey JWJ Family:
Sometimes, we all need a reminder of the the simple things that really matter in life. Here’s is my contribution to what I like to call “the knowledge base of necessity.” Lol!
Please remember that we all reap what we sow. For instance, if we eat too much, we may reap a harvest of obesity. If we drink too much, we may reap a harvest of liver disease. If we lust too much, we may lose the ability to connect with others in a deep emotional and spiritual way.
Let’s make today great and sow seeds that create and give life in order to experience the goodness that life
has to offer!
As I have been out in the community, I sense the immense discouragement that the citizens of America seem to be carrying. Right now, America is facing financial hardships and many people have lost many things, but we must remember that everything has to change. Nothing stays the same, people or things that stay the same, are dead or going to die, so be a “changer.” I would like to offer a series of encouragement for everyone around the world who is suffering, has suffered, and who feels like giving up.
Today is the day to make your goals a reality. Aren’t you tired of all of the shoulda, coulda, wouldas? You should be! You can reach your goals. You no longer have to say, “I always wanted to go to college.” Nobody is stopping you, but you! You must take a step in the direction of your goals. If you want to go to college but you cannot read, what is the first thing that you need to learn to do? You got it! First, you need to learn to read and write. Why? Because, you will need to know how to read and write in order to succeed in college.
Whatever you personal, professional, or spiritual goals are today, take a step in the direction of your goal, then watch God bless your efforts.
Dear Young Ladies:
I have missed writing to you all. I’m so sorry that I fell behind but life has a way of sending interferences that you did not plan on having in your life. I am happy to be back here with you (big smile).
As I was thinking about what to write to you young ladies, I thought about a question I had as a young girl. My question was and sometimes still is today, “Who Am I?” Do you ever ask yourself that question?
When I was a young girl, I always kept a diary. I wrote down everything that happened to me in a day or I wrote about the highlight of my day or the worst part of my day. What I remember most, is that I wrote about how I felt about what happened during that day and how I handled it. Usually, I would read the diary entries for weeks or months prior and this exercise helped me to realize who I was……and today this exercise still helps me to understand who I am.
So I ask you, who are you? Who do you want to become? Are you on the road to becoming the young lady that you want to be? Do you have a plan to address obstacles that will try to derail your goals? How do you plan to be the young lady that God designed you to be?
As always, remember that I love you and I am praying for your success.

Yes, I have written about the importance of drinking “real water” before, but I felt compelled to follow up on this topic. Each and every time I go to a party or event and see someone that I have not seen in years, they say, “Judith, what are you doing, you are not aging?” I laugh and say that it’s good living but I really think that I am maintaining my youthful appearance because 90% of what I drink everyday is “real or alkaline water.” This water is phenomenal! It tastes clean, refreshing, and within minutes, I feel energized. For me, having energy is essential because I, like most people, live a very busy life.
Simply put, alkaline water helps to prevent the body from becoming diseased and it provides the body with the correct nutrients or chemical balance that it needs in order to thrive. For more detailed information about alkaline water, check out
I share this information on my blog because I want everyone that I know and all of my readers to lead healthy and happy lives, but healthy lives are a result of the choices that “we” make.
