Today, I just felt impressed to provide a little encouragement to my readers. I know that three weeks ago we were all so excited about the possibilities of 2011. Within the past three(3) weeks, I have received calls that my friends and family have been laid off from their jobs for no reason. I know that financially, things may be rougher than ever. You may be faced with divorce, may have lost a loved one, or may be fighting an illness. I understand that you may feel alone and even in despair. I even understand that you may not feel like living. I just wanted to say, “DON’T GIVE UP!” Problems are temporary but the plan that God has for each of our lives is eternal. Let’s pray for one another and watch God continue to perform miracles in “seemingly” bleak times.
Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) is a sodium salt of the non-essential amino glutamic acid. It is used as a food additive and it is commonly marketed as a flavor enhancer. MSG raises the insulin levels by exciting the neurons in our brains to death, causing us to be addicted to the foods with MSG in them like chips and other junk foods. Have you ever felt like you cannot live without having a certain brand of chips or your favorite unhealthy snack? If so, you may want to read the ingredients to find out if the product is made with MSG. I think that you will be surprised by how many of the foods sold in grocery stores today contain MSG.
A few food items that are infused with MSG are: potato chips, cookies, chicken strips, etc.
Here’s a company that sells chips and other snack items without MSG and these products taste great. This product can be purchased at health food stores. Check out www.mycadia.com
Dear Young Ladies,
This week, I am so happy to speak with you about a topic that is very near and dear to my heart…….L-O-V-E. I want to ask you an important question, do you love yourself? In life, people will come into your life in an effort to destroy your hopes and dreams. Some people will not intend to hurt you but others will intend to hurt you. How will you know if people are coming to hurt you? Well, if someone asks you to drink, smoke, do drugs, have sex outside of marriage, lie, cheat, or steal they do not have your best interest at heart. Yes, I also mean, that they do NOT love you, but you have to love yourself enough, to say, “NO!” Do your best to leave the situation and distance yourself from negative people. I know that our society glamorizes smoking, drinking, and using drugs but these behaviors can be detrimental to your mind, body, and soul. Engaging in these negative behaviors can cause you to look decades older than you really are and these behaviors can derail your dreams and future plans.
My advise this week is simple, LOVE YOURSELF by protecting yourself from life’s negativity. Now that you are on the road to loving yourself, guess who else loves you? I DO!!!! See ya next week!
I know that it is not popular these days to quote scriptures from the Bible. Some people believe that the Bible is an antiquated book that has no relevance to the times that we live in. I think that those people have a right to their opinions, but so do I. I believe that we as a society cannot live our best lives without understanding that there is an entity bigger and greater than ourselves. Trust me, I have tried to do and believe in my own abilities. Believing in my own abilities left me with nothing and my progression in life was stagnated. Anyway, I want to talk to you young ladies about building a successful life. In my opinion, in order to build a successful life you should consider putting God first. What does putting God first mean? It means that when you are confronted with an opportunity to do something that you 1) study the Bible 2) stop and consider if what you want to do is morally and ethically right 3) would the activity benefit or hurt you? 4) before doing the activity evaluate if your motive’s are good and if the result will be good.
For instance, when I was in elementary school I had a friend who asked me to try a cigarette. I had asthma but I still looked at the cigarette. I knew that smoking would definitely give me an asthma attack. I thought to myself, “would smoking a cigarette be a good representative of the fact that I honor God with my life?” I quickly told my friend that I was NOT interested in the cigarette. My friend told me that I was really missing out. She stopped coming to school and we did not stay friends because she chose a different path for her life. I wanted to become a doctor and be positive and successful, but she chose to smoke, skip school, and disobey her mother. Life is full of choices and many choices can leave long lasting consequences so you must make wise decisions.
Leave a comment. Let me know how you plan to become successful. What are your secrets for success as a young lady?
I think that this is such an important organization. In America, Malaria is pretty much obliterated but people, especially children, are dying every day from deadly mosquito bites. It amazes me how something as simple as a net, will block out deadly mosquitos and saves lives.

As a kid I was allergic to everything (i.e. dust, pet hair, cats, certain dogs, carpet, and paint). I grew accustomed to having watery eyes and a runny nose on a daily basis. On a yearly basis, I would get the flu which for me would turn into pneumonia. About ten years ago, I decided to do a little research to find out if there were any holistic remedies that I could try that might improve my allergy and sinus issues. I learned that viruses can easily attach themselves to dry nasal passages, thus causing the flu.
I began to use the saline nasal spray pictured above twice a day. In no time, I saw a drastic improvement in my allergies and a reduction in obtaining the flu on an annual basis. I just wanted to share this little tip as flu season is upon us once again. Happy New Year!
I wish all of the Journey With Judith readers a prosperous and safe new year. Let us make time for the things that matter most in life. Let us worship God. Let us honor and cherish our friends, loved ones, and parents. Let us help those in need. Let us be the best in career, work, and school. Let us enjoy life and do not allow stress to enter into our bodies and souls to cause disease or dis ease. I certainly will not (lol). This is a new decade which means that we will all have a new opportunity to fulfill our destinies. Love you all!!!!
